AV and spyware programs to me are a personal choice as to the way you surf, and sites you visit. You will get a few answers saying AVG is good and all else is crap. Same with other brands. I could point you to a lot of surveys on AV/spyware/malware. I am not a fan of freeware, as I believe it hasn’t all the bells n whistles of a purchased product like , tech support etc, some may? I have used Norton’s since 2002 and it has let me down once. “when your on a good thing stick to it” old Aus saying. My suggestion is try, freeware, go with it, or try trial ware and buy, bottom line your personal choice.

I use Grisoft and have been using it for years. There are two versions a paid version and a free version. The only different in the two is the paid version update automatically on a daily basis and the freeware version updates on a less frequent basis unless you go in and check for updates. I use the free version for a number of years but I decided it was good and went to the paid version with a two year license. I will be buying the new version very soon.
